This base was created in memory of Maria Sue Chapman, the daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman. Steven Curtis Chapman had recently written a song, before Maria's tragic death, about a father taking the time to dance with his daughter before she's gone (grown up). The song is titled "Cinderella."
The Chapman family have also been strong advocates for adoption and sponsored Shaohannah's Hope, which helps raise money for adoptive families.
